Introduction

Like many people, I periodically learn that some view that I had held as recently as the previous day is not correct.
Perhaps also like many people, I periodically learn that something that I previously believed was not merely true, but that it is far more important than I had previously realized.
For me, a recurring theme is that however much I thought men being able to provide financially was important to women, most days I wake up thinking it is more important than I thought it was the day before.

The scammers want you to believe that you will receive a large amount of money later.
While such online encounters will be attempts at scams, the language they used reminded me of 2 real life encounters.
On 2 distinct occasions, several years and hundreds of miles apart, I was in situations speaking with 2 different women who were much older than I was.
It would be inaccurate to say that I could remember every word that they had said.
However, they had both used language such as "I have all this money and no one to spend it on".
If you knew me during the time of the conversations, you would absolutely believe that I was so naive that I did not understand what they were trying to say.
If you are an adult woman, you may receive so many such offers that you do not remember most of them.
If you are a man, such experiences are memorable if you do not understand them at the time.
I would have to check my files to see whether I have screenshots of messages from Sugar Momma scammers.
Even if I do not, Sugar Momma scammers are very common on dating websites.
I swear on my mother's grave that the conversations with the older women were as I remember them, but in this particular cases there is no way to prove my story.
During the Covid lockdown, reading messages from Sugar Momma scammers on dating websites felt like my brain freezing after eating particularly cold ice cream as I realized that the scammers were using language very similar to the real life women that I had met.
In the case of the two real life women, the difference in ages may have meant that my ability to provide companionship, or even "companionship", may have potentially offset my lack of financial resources.
However, in the overwhelming number of cases, a man's ability to provide financially is critical to having romantic interest from a woman.
