 Denial

How and when will the Democratic Party replace Joseph Biden?

Denial

If you are a man and you encounter a woman performing any one of the following roles:

after the experience, you may feel compelled to report to friends and family that "she's into you".
If you are some kind of celebrity, someone acting flirty with you while trying to get you to agree to take some kind of action may in fact be a sign of genuine romantic interest.
For the rest of us, interpreting any indication of friendliness from a woman trying to sell us a product or service as romantic interest would be an example of being in denial.
Regardless of anything that happens between now and election day, Joseph Biden will still win the electoral votes of California and Massachusetts.
However impregnable that base may be, it is inadequate to vote Joseph Biden in as the next President of the United States.
Just like a man believing that a woman doing business with him has a romantic interest in him is in denial, Joseph Biden is in denial if he thinks that he will be elected to be the next president of the United States.

What Didn't Happen

I went to bed early Saturday, June 29th, 2024.
I expected that before the Sunday morning political talk shows aired, the Democratic Party would have coalesced around a new presumptive nominee.
Biden would have issued a statement such as "so that one bad debate performance does not continue to remain a distraction, I am putting all my energy behind our nominee."
Charles Schumer and Nancy Pelosi would be making the rounds.
When asked to discuss Biden's exit, they would reply "there will be an appropriate time to honor Joseph Biden's lifetime of achievement, but right now we need to support Gretchen Whitmer in her general election campaign."
Regardless of the Democratic Party's primary so far, Gretchen Whitmar still has a far greater chance of being the party's nominee than Joseph Biden.

The Challenge?

Among the challenges regarding President Biden stepping aside is the fate of Hunter Biden.
If President Biden were to remain in office after the November election, regardless of the election outcome, President Biden would be free to provide a pardon or commutation for his son Hunter.
Win or lose, this is President Bidens final political election.
If Biden leaves office before the 2024 presidential election, presumably Biden would take some kind of action to insulate his son Hunter from criminal penalties.
How would Biden providing his son with a pardon or commutation before the election impact his party during the election?
Would Biden be willing to settle for an oral agreement that Hunter receive a pardon or commutation from his successor after the election?

Conclusion

Depending on who the candidate is, your vote for president may matter if you live in one of several battle ground states.
For the rest of us, there still remains an important lesson.
If you do fall prey to a scam, do not suffer from denial.
Do not allow your desperation to so thoroughly cloud your judgement that you fall for a recovery scammer.
